Countdown to Gala

Thank You!

2019 Gala

Our Distinguished Leaders event celebrates Great Bay’s special connection to our industry and community partners while raising funds that help dozens of students gain a college education. Over the last six years, through corporate and individual generosity, we have raised over $1.5 million in support of this effort. This year, we seek to raise at least $250,000.

Our goal is to provide students with a quality, affordable, and accessible college education. Our academic programs and corporate trainings help build a strong workforce in New Hampshire. We serve over 2,000 students each year. In 2019, over 300 students graduated in a variety of fields and many more transferred onto four-year institutions. We proudly serve New Hampshire citizens, over 90% of our students live and work in the Granite State. Our students are your friends, your neighbors, and your employees. Our students stay in New Hampshire upon graduation and contribute to the community in many ways! Over 70 percent of our students request financial assistance in order to make their education and long-term goals a reality.

All proceeds from the Distinguished Leaders Gala go directly to support Great Bay Community College. Funds raised will directly impact students and the learning experience at Great Bay Community College.

Who We Are

Who We Are Who We Are Who We Are
Great Bay Community College (GBCC), a public community college, was founded in 1945 as the State Trade School of Portsmouth. In 1949, it was renamed "New Hampshire Technical Institute - Portsmouth". In 2008, the College changed its name to Great Bay Community College.  The current name derives from nearby Great Bay, the largest tidal estuary in New Hampshire. The college is part of the Community College System of New Hampshire (CCSNH) and is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education. The main campus is in Portsmouth at the Pease International Tradeport with an additional campus in Rochester.

For almost 75 years, Great Bay has been improving the lives of New Hampshire’s residents by providing affordable, accessible, quality education and training programs that align with the needs of New Hampshire’s businesses and communities.  Great Bay is dedicated to the educational, professional, and personal success of its students, a skilled workforce for our state’s businesses, and a strong New Hampshire economy.
